Brew-1-0 1/8: Hoops Lookin' to Stay Hot
The UTSA WBB team looks to secure its 13th win of the season tonight in their Salute to Armed Forces contest against Rice.

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. The UTSA WBB team is back in the Convo tonight, where they'll meet Rice at 6:30 p.m. in a Salute to Armed Forces contest. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The Roadrunners (12-2, 3-0 The American) took down Tulsa, 60-53, last time out, collecting their 12th win of the season, and a 12-2 record reflects the program's best-ever through 14 games. UTSA is also 3-0 in league action for the first time since the 2009-10 squad accomplished the feat in the Southland.

🔼 The Bux Stops Here. UTSA defensive lineman Jameian Buxton has been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District® Football Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Buxton has recorded a 3.50 GPA as a multidisciplinary studies major. A member of the 2023-24 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, he recently wrapped up his sophomore season as a key member of the defensive line to help the Roadrunners cap a 7-6 season with their second straight bowl win in the 44-15 victory over Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

🔼 Well Deserved Hoopla. Roadrunners WBB coach Karen Aston has been honored with the Week 9 WHoopDirt.com Coach of the Week Award, presented by FastBreak PlayBook. These coaches are now eligible for the prestigious WHoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award, presented by FastBreak PlayBook, which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2024-25 college basketball season.

🔼 Gonna Need a Bigger Trophy Case. On Monday, the AAC released their weekly women’s basketball honors, with redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins winning her third Player of the Week award of the 2024-25 campaign. She has now won nine total Player of the Week awards across three conferences (4x CUSA, 1x Pac-12, 4x AAC) in her collegiate career.
Jenkins started the week scoring 16 with seven rebounds across a win against UAB before charting 30 points and seven boards in a road victory over Tulsa. She shot 53.3% from the field, went 11-of-12 from the free-throw line, and blocked four shots for the squad.

🔼 Court is (Almost) in Session. UTSA Women’s Tennis announced the 2025 spring schedule, which includes eleven road matches and twelve home matches. The Roadrunners will open their 2025 spring campaign with a doubleheader against Prairie View A&M on January 15.
