🤙The Official Newsletter For UTSA Athletics, brought to you by Chama Gaucha

Good Morning, UTSA Fam. UTSA student-athletes just crushed it in the classroom with a record-setting fall semester. Eight programs set new GPA benchmarks: baseball (3.45), men's cross country (3.48), women's golf (3.82), and men's track & field (3.25) posted their best semester GPAs ever, while football, soccer, softball, and men's XC set cumulative GPA records.

The department averaged a 3.21 semester GPA, with 74.79% of student-athletes earning 3.0 or higher and 39 posting perfect 4.0s. Nearly half (44.54%) made President's List, Dean's List, or Honor Roll.

🔼 Clutch Win. UTSA women's basketball escaped with a heart-stopping 66-64 victory over North Texas on Wednesday. Senior Cheyenne Rowe torched the Mean Green for a career-high 27 points (12-of-18 shooting) and 11 rebounds, but it was sophomore Damara Allen who sealed it, rebounding her own miss and hitting the go-ahead bucket with 13 seconds left. UNT had taken a 64-63 lead with 22 seconds remaining after erasing the deficit, but Allen's clutch shot and UTSA's lockdown defense in the final seconds secured the win.

The Roadrunners (10-9, 5-3 AAC) host Rice on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a Play4Kay contest. Purchase your tickets here.

🔼 Schedule Update. UTSA men's tennis has shifted its upcoming match against UT Arlington from Friday to Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center. Before returning home, the Roadrunners hit the road to face Oklahoma State on Friday, Feb. 6, in Stillwater, followed by Wichita State on Sunday, Feb. 8. UTSA's next home match after UTA is set for Friday, Feb. 13, against Tulane at 1 p.m.
