🔼 What’s the Over/Under? UTSA tight end Patrick Overmyer has been named to The Athletic’s Freshman All-America First Team. He becomes the fifth Roadrunner to earn a Freshman All-America certificate, joining Sincere McCormick (2019), Trey Moore (2022), Jared Sackett (2017) and Josiah Tauaefa (2016).
Overmyer led all FBS freshman tight ends with 31 receptions for 283 yards and three touchdowns this season. He is one of four players from the American Athletic Conference to earn a spot on the first or second teams.
🔼 Showing Some Lone Star Love. Seventh-year UTSA soccer head coach Derek Pittman announced on Tuesday, Dec. 31, that the Roadrunners will add 14 new players with two SEC transfers and 12 incoming freshmen to next season’s roster. Five of the latest class of Roadrunners will be joining UTSA on campus in January.
The newest Roadrunners are very representative of the Lone Star State, with nine Texans in the class, in addition to one from Sweden and four others from out of state. Filling in the roster with balance and depth in all positions, Pittman added two goalkeepers, four defenders, four midfielders and four forwards for next season’s squad.
