Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. The UTSA women's basketball team is in Tampa, Florida, today for a conference matchup against South Florida at 6 p.m. CT. 

The Roadrunners (17-2, 8-0 The American) are coming off a 64-53 victory over Tulsa that secured the squad's first 10-game winning streak since the 2007-08 season.

Graduate student Nina De Leon Negron was awarded AAC Player of the Week after pouring in 19 points with 10 rebounds, eight assists, a block and a steal.

🔼 Given Her Flowers. On Monday, the AAC released its weekly awards, with graduate student Nina De Leon Negron claiming Player of Week for the first time at UTSA. This marks the fourth consecutive week that a Roadrunner has won the award and the sixth time this season, as redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins has earned five.  

De Leon Negron was phenomenal across a 64-53 victory over Tulsa, finishing two assists shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and eight helpers. Defensively, she posted a block and steal, all while shooting 50% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.

🔼 Scout’s Honor. UTSA All-America cornerback Zah Frazier has received an invitation to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held Feb. 24-March 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Frazier’s time spent at the event is scheduled to begin on Feb. 25 with meetings, exams and interviews lasting through Feb. 27. Measurements and on-field workouts are pegged for Feb. 28 with more testing and media interviews slated for March 1. NFL Network will provide television coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine.

🔼 Primo Performance. If you’ve been watching this senior guard in action, you’re likely not surprised that he is now a member of the 1,500 Points Club.

🔼 Owl Be Seeing You. The UTSA men’s basketball team (9-10, 3-4 AAC) are coming off a key victory at home and hit the road for consecutive away dates, starting with a trip to Boca Raton and Florida Atlantic (10-10, 3-4 AAC) on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The Roadrunners and Owls will meet on Wednesday for the 18th time in the series after an overtime barnburner last year at the Convo. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m CST and the game will air on UTSA Radio, streaming live on ESPN+.
