The UTSA women's basketball team took down Tulsa, 64-53, in conference action to secure a 10-game winning streak.

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. On Wednesday, the UTSA women's basketball team took down Tulsa, 64-53, in conference action to secure their first 10-game winning streak since the 2007-08 season. The 'Runners also won their 11th consecutive contest in the Convocation Center, tying a stretch from Jan. 9, 2002-Nov. 28, 2003, for the program record.
Graduate student Nina De Leon Negron poured in 19 points with 10 rebounds, eight assists, a block and a steal, while sophomore Idara Udo collected 16 points with eight boards, two blocks, and two steals.

🔼 Jordyn is Jordan-esque. Redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins' trophy case continues to grow, as the NCAA has named her to their weekly Starting Five for the third time in her career. In a separate release, The AP listed her as an Honorable Mention among their Player of the Week.
Jenkins earns the accolades following a pair of sensational performances that saw her post 17 points and 10 rebounds across a 70-68 comeback at Memphis before scoring 21 with nine boards in a 73-63 win over UAB. In addition to recognition from the NCAA and AP, she was named AAC Player of the Week for the third consecutive week and the fifth time this season.

🔼 Coach K All the Way. On Wednesday, Her Hoop Stats officially released their midseason 2025 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award Watch List, with UTSA women’s basketball’s Karen Aston making the cut.
Aston was one of 10 coaches chosen following a historic start to the campaign that’s seen the squad go 16-2, including an incredible 7-0 start to American Athletic Conference play. The Roadrunners have been undefeated at home thus far, and two lone losses on the year have come from perennial powerhouse programs in Stanford and Texas A&M by a combined nine points.

🔼 (Shot)Putting It All On the Line. Following up a 15-medal 2025 debut at Northern Arizona, the UTSA track & field teams will travel up to College Station and the first of two meets this season at R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track, competing in the Ted Nelson Invitational today and tomorrow (Friday-Saturday, Jan. 24-25).
The Ted Nelson Invitational will get started today with the men’s and women’s weight throw events, beginning at 4 p.m. The competition starts tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the 3,000-meter to kick off the meet and running events. Field events start at 11 a.m. with the shot put. Saturday’s events will run into the late afternoon and finish with the 4x400-meter relays.

🔼 In Other Female Athletes Going Undefeated News. UTSA women’s tennis defeats the UTEP Miners 4-0 in their fourth match of the season on the road in El Paso, Texas on Jan. 19. With the win, the Roadrunners stay undefeated to open the 2025 season. Through the first four matches of the season, the Roadrunners have defeated their opponents by a combined score of 18-1.
