🤙 The Official Newsletter For UTSA Athletics, brought to you by Sport & Story

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. It’s a UTSA Basketball doubleheader on Saturday at the Convo as both Roadrunners teams host Wichita State. The women’s team, off to the best start in school history, welcomes the Shockers at 12:00 PM CST. The men’s game—which tips off at 3:00 PM—is the annual Salute to Armed Forces, presented by USAA, the Official Military Partner of UTSA Athletics.

As Saturday is Family Day and Alumni Day, there will be fun events for the whole family, including inflatables, face painting and a balloon artist outside the Convo.

🔼 Down But Never Out. After trailing for the majority of the game, the UTSA women's basketball team sparked a comeback, outscoring Rice 24-9 in the fourth quarter to collect a 67-58 victory in AAC action at the Convo on Wednesday. Redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins’ three-pointer handed the ‘Runners their first lead of the evening with 6:17 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The win extended UTSA's best-ever start to a season, and UTSA is 4-0 in league play for the first time since the 2001-02 campaign (Southland Conference). The squad is now one win away from tying the all-time best 5-0 mark from the 1983-84 season (Oil Country Athletic Conference).

🔼 “Myles From Home”. Conor Myles discusses his journey from down under to the great state of Texas. Myles’ dad paved the way, going to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to play for a team that is now a summer ball outfit. Myles also discusses the way Coach Hallmark motivates the team, playing baseball at UTSA and the fun his teammates have with his accent.

🔼 Birdies Across the Border. Good luck to Daniela Abonce and Olivia Williams, who will be competing on the national level in the Mexican Women's Amateur this week at Yucatan Country Club. Birds Up! 🤙🏼
