5 UTSA Roadrunners were named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College Team

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. Five UTSA Roadrunners have been named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College Team.

Defensive lineman Brandon Brown and offensive lineman Venly Tatafu were chosen to the first team, while Chase Allen, Kevorian Barnes and Joe Evans received second-team nods.

UTSA’s five selections are tied with three other teams for the second-highest total behind SMU and Texas, who share the lead with 10 apiece.

🔼 Welcome to the 210. On the heels of Athlon Sports having chosen Jeff Traylor as its top head coach in The American for the 2024 season, a total of 15 UTSA Roadrunners were named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team.

Place-kicker Chase Allen, running back Kevorian Barnes, defensive lineman Brandon Brown, tight end Oscar Cardenas, defensive lineman Joe Evans, linebacker Jamal Ligon and money backer Donyai Taylor all landed on the first team.

Second-team selections included wide receiver Devin McCuin, safety Ken Robinson and offensive lineman Venly Tatafu. Offensive lineman Cory Godinet and outside linebacker Jimmori Robinson made the third team, while wide receiver De’Corian Clark, offensive lineman Makai Hart and running back Robert Henry were picked for the fourth team.

Answer: Ida Breigan’s performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships marks only the third UTSA First Team All-American honor in the outdoor women’s long jump, the last recorded in 1996 by Hall-of-Famer Tameka Roberts. So the correct answer was two!
